SYRACUSE, N.Y. — For much of Saturday afternoon, the UConn football team was on pace to deliver a premier road win against an ACC squad.

The underdog Huskies led most of the game against a Syracuse program that has been on the rise.

The Orange won 10 games a year ago; nine victories came against teams that appeared in a bowl.

And despite several dropped passes and interceptions, UConn held a 17-6 advantage late in the fourth quarter.

It wasn’t meant to be, however.

The UConn defense, which stifled the Syracuse offense for much of the contest, allowed the Orange to march down the field twice in the final minutes. Both drives resulted in touchdowns.
