ESOPUS, N.Y. — Mount Academy’s boys soccer team scored five straight goals on the way to a 6-1 Mid-Hudson Athletic League (MHAL) victory over visiting Rondout Valley on Friday, Sept. 5,
With the score tied at 1-1, Jaren Page scored his second goal at the 30-minute mark to give the Mount a 2-1 lead and the hosts pulled away.
Eric Loewenthal, Bruce Maendel, Craig Baird and Brandon Kaiser scored goals for the Eagles in the second half.
The Mount improved to 2-0 in the MHAL’s Division 2. Rondout dropped to 1-1 in MHAL Division 2 and 3-1 overall.
The Mount had a 26-8 advantage in shots.
Keeper Johann Fransham made three saves for the Mount.
Rondout Valley keeper Waverly Rubin had nine stops and Trace Baker made one.
Rondout’s tally came when the Mount shot a ball into its own goal.
