SALT LAKE CITY — With fall migrations in full swing, this is a great time of year for birdwatching. The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources is introducing a new birdwatching challenge, the Utah Birding Slam. DWR wants to encourage more people to get outside and explore birdwatching.

This self-guided, bird-watching challenge offers six different slams, each with varying difficulty levels. Each slam has specific requirements encouraging and challenging birders to find and learn to identify different bird species found in various parts of Utah.
