SPOKANE, Wash. — At the intersection of Northwest Blvd. and Grace Ave., Spokane drivers may notice a construction site.
While it looks like any other work zone, the site is in the middle of deconstructing a historic building from the 1920s.
The youth mental health nonprofit, Excelsior Wellness, plans to open a multigenerational housing facility on the same site as the historic home.
Excelsior marketing and communications director Yolanda Pagaduan said the new housing facility will involve older adults and youth.
"The multigenerational comes from, we'll have older adults work with our youth on mentorship. So, they'll be able to access and have hands-on vocational training at the Gildred's Garage, which is also on-site," Pagaduan said.
