Pennsylvania State Police say a Homer City man was lying in the roadway before he was struck and killed by a vehicle late Friday.
Troopers were dispatched to a reported hit-and-run crash shortly before midnight Friday along Old Route 119 in White Township, Indiana County, state police said in a news release Saturday.
There, troopers found the body of Bryan W.D. Boyd, 30 of Homer City. State police said that during their investigation, they learned that the victim was “lying on his back within the southbound travel lane of Old Route 119 Highway South when he was struck” by a vehicle traveling south on the highway.
Investigators said the scene of the incident was dark with limited streetlights and that the vehicle had traveled over a small hill prior to striking Mr. Boyd.
