EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The first major moment for the Steelers in Sunday’s 34-32 thriller of a win at the Jets came courtesy of DK Metcalf. No surprise there.

But the next one, and their first splash on the scoreboard, was delivered by none other than Ben Skowronek. The run-blocking, dirty work, special teams demon receiver Ben Skowronek.

“Benny Skow! I feel like if you ask anybody, that’s a good story for the first one to go to Ben,” fellow receiver Calvin Austin III said afterward in the locker room. “It all makes sense.”

Austin was referring to Skowronek’s relationship with his new quarterback. “The Aaron Rodgers Factor,” Skowronek said, not at all beating the bromance allegations. He’s hopeful someone with the Steelers kept the ball and wants to get it signed by Rodgers.
