A man was killed in a shooting in the Sugar House neighborhood early Saturday morning, Salt Lake City police said.
Officers responded about 12:18 a.m. Saturday to a report of a shooting at 1300 E. Wilson Ave., near Westminster University, police said in a release issued Saturday.
Officers found a 20-year-old man who had been shot several times, police said. According to the release, the man was taken to an area hospital, where he died.
Police said two groups got into an argument that escalated into a fight. Then a 24-year-old man allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot the 20-year-old. Police arrested the man and booked him into the Salt Lake County jail, accused of murder and obstruction of justice.
