NEW YORK (PIX11) – Some LIRR employees are currently voting on whether to strike, which could impact service in parts of the city, according to an official PIX11 News spoke with regarding the matter.

A strike could occur as early as September 18 over wage disputes, officials said.

On Tuesday, locomotive engineers, represented by the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen, a major union, sent ballots asking members to vote on stagnant wages that haven't increased in three years, according to their website.
