WESTLAKE, Ohio –

Deer break-in: Clemens Road

Employees of a Clemens Road business arriving for work at 9 a.m. on Aug. 27 called the police department to report finding a broken window and blood nearby.

After listening to a ruckus inside the building, they discovered that a deer had mistakenly broken through the window into the business and was running around inside. Police officers and the Westlake animal control officer corralled the deer and guided him outside. However, the deer, apparently frightened by seeing people outside the building, jumped through another window and back into the business.

Officers waited for the deer to exhaust itself and then dragged it outside with a snare. Despite his cuts, the deer ran off into some nearby woods once he was outside.
