WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. — A heavy afternoon rain storm on Saturday is causing some road flooding in West Columbia.
The West Columbia Police Department warned drivers that low-lying areas in the town were beginning to flood. The department specifically mentioned the Chris Drive intersection on Augusta Road near I-26 and stated that it was closed.
They also warned drivers to use extreme caution in low-lying areas where standing water may be blocking routes. The department advised against crossing these high-risk areas.
