PISCATAWAY – The signs of what Rutgers football’s offense could be started to emerge in the second half of last season.

Quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis was playing at a high level. The young receivers around him began consistently flashing their talent. And the Scarlet Knights ’ young running backs showed they had the ability to absorb the loss of Kyle Monangai.

Keeping that momentum into this season was the challenge.

Through the first two games, Kirk Ciarrocca’s unit has managed to do that − and you could make the argument it's done even more than that.

The Scarlet Knights rolled offensively in their 45-17 win over Miami (Ohio) on Sept. 6 at SHI Stadium as Rutgers improved to 2-0.

Kaliakmanis was crisp and efficient, completing 26-of-36 passes for 259 yards with four touchdowns,
