MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -A Madison author is celebrating the release of her new book on Saturday. The story is a true ‘tail’ about how the community came together to help her find her lost dog.

Mary Thompson released “Adventures of Coco Mia- LOST”, telling the true story of her dog Coco Mia becoming lost and alone after being hit by a car. With the help of the community, the pup is returned home to Thompson and is now the center of her latest story.

Thompson signed copies of her book, gave away prizes and even introduced guests at the release party to the star of the story, Coco Mia. The event took place at the Goodman Center.

She said that she wrote the book to share the special magic of a community coming together to save her pet.
