There’s been plenty of debate about whether Lucas County’s multi-million dollar investment in the Glass City Center convention facility and attached Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites was worth it.

The cost was significant, but the cost of doing nothing would have been far greater.

Without the renovation, Toledo would not be competing for or winning the events we see today. The modernized facility has allowed our community to attract conferences, trade shows, conventions, banquets, and tournaments that once passed us by for Columbus, Cleveland, Detroit, or other cities.

These events draw in visitors from across the region and beyond, driving business for hotels, restaurants, retailers, and attractions, while sustaining jobs for local residents.
