COLUMBIA – This won’t be a game that South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers will include on his Heisman trophy highlight video.
Sellers, who came into the game as one of the front-runners for college football's most coveted trophy, looked pedestrian against FCS opponent South Carolina State on Saturday night and into Sunday morning.
Sellers, who completed 11 of 19 passes for 128 yards and one touchdown, and the Gamecocks offense struggled to find any offensive rhythm in a game that was delayed 2½ hours due to inclement weather in the Columbia area.
For the second straight week, it was the Gamecocks’ special teams, keyed by two punt returns for touchdowns by Vicari Swain, that propelled 10th-ranked South Carolina past South Carolina State 38-10 before a sellout crowd at Williams-B
