LINCOLN, Neb. —

University of Nebraska has brought back a fan-favorite pregame tradition with the Cornhusker Kickoff. It's the first time the university has held a pregame kickoff since 2019.

The event, now hosted at the Hawks Championship Center, kicked off ahead of the Huskers' home opener and drew a crowd of excited fans.

Attendees were met with music, games, face painting, and even a 40-yard dash — activities aimed at bringing together Husker fans of all ages.

“This is the Midwest, it's all about family,” said one Husker fan, summing up the spirit of the pregame event.

Fans packed the indoor facility, which sits just steps away from Memorial Stadium. The celebration provided a nostalgic experience for alumni and a new tradition for current students and young fans.
