Dr. Leanne Redman, of Pennington Biomedical Research Center, has been named as the Louisiana Public Facilities Authority endowed chair in nutrition.

The chair was established through private donations matched by the Board of Regents Support Fund.

Redman is associate executive director for scientific education and director of the Pennington-Louisiana Nutrition Obesity Research Center.

Redman is a leading authority on body weight regulation and has published more than 250 research papers on the topic as well as on women’s health, obesity and nutrition.
