SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - The trial of Dalton Robinson was set to begin Monday, Sept. 8, however, a continuance was issued.
Robinson is charged with second-degree murder in connection to the death of his grandfather, 77-year-old Sidney Robinson.
The trial has been pushed back to Nov. 3 due to two sanity evaluations finding Robinson unfit to stand trial. The case is under further evaluation.
Shreveport officers were called to a home in the 400 block of Washington Street on Jan. 12, 2023 on reports of a deceased person.
When they got there, officers found Sidney had been beaten in the head and face and suffered multiple lacerations. Officials later said a hatchet had been used in the attack.
Dalton was arrested the same day for suspected involvement in his grandfather’s death.
