SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - A Shreveport man, who shot his victim during the course of a robbery, pleaded guilty in Caddo District Court late last month.

He was sentenced to serve 15 years in prison, according to the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office.

Deontae Horton, 22, pleaded guilty August 27 before District Judge Ramona Emanuel to the charge of attempted second-degree murder regarding a shooting that happened October 9, 2023, in the 1700 block of Alma Street.

During the robbery Horton fired a shot that struck the victim in his back.
