HELENA — Purple specks dotting Wykece Johnson’s shoulder pads told the story.

Earned by bowling over Carroll College defenders Saturday night, the Montana Tech graduate student from Lexington, Mississippi, accomplished something Johnson’s accolade-laden predecessor never did in his first trip to the Capital City.

Johnson rushed for 178 yards and a hat-trick in the No. 11-ranked Orediggers’ 30-19 nonconference rivalry triumph over the No. 25 Saints, besting any of Landers Smith’s trio of triple-digit performances in a now fourth-consecutive victory over Carroll.
