The Timmons-Rearick family has been recognized for their long-standing support of Mackinac State Historic Parks with the G. Mennen Williams Stewardship Award, according to a community announcement.

The award, named after the late Michigan Governor G. Mennen “Soapy” Williams, honors individuals or groups that have significantly contributed to restoration, preservation or museum program efforts at the parks. It is presented by Mackinac State Historic Parks in collaboration with Mackinac Associates, a friends group supporting the state parks system.

Clayton and Anna Timmons, longtime members of the Mackinac Island community, were known for their generosity toward local organizations, including Mackinac State Historic Parks. They moved to the island after retiring from their teaching careers
