Scots heading abroad for some last minute summer sunshine might be considering swapping Málaga or Tenerife for eastern Europe, more specifically the roasting hot sunshine , pebbly beaches, and crystal clear waters of Croatia. ‌

This was my thinking when, last month, I took advantage of the direct flight from Glasgow to Split and booked three nights in the vibrant city , as well as three nights on Hvar; the stunning island just an hour's ferry ride away. ‌
