Krazy Races soapbox event will happen despite Bristol thunderstorms

The organisers of a soapbox racing event in south Bristol say it will go ahead despite thunderstorms across the city this morning (Sunday, September 7).

The event will see 40 makeshift go-karts take on the Krazy Races course at Victoria Park, Bedminster , created by local businesses, groups of friends and engineers.

However, shortly after 8am this morning, the South West received a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms, with the risk of "intense rain" and hail .

Despite the city being battered by the weather, Krazy Races has announced that the event will be going ahead today, as the warning is set to clear at midday.
