JEFFERSON COUNTY, Tennessee — One person is in custody following a late-night police chase that ended in the Strawberry Plains area, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
In a statement by New Market officer Dillion Atkins, a white Hyundai Sonata driven by Victor J. Patino - Estacio was initially observed traveling 77 mph in a posted 45 mph zone before accelerating to between 118 mph and 130 mph when Atkins attempted to initiate a stop. The vehicle was eventually stopped near 2282 W Highway 11E.
Atkins said Patino - Estacio smelled strongly of alcohol, was uncooperative, and claimed he did not speak English. He was detained after resisting during removal from the vehicle. Two open containers of Modelo beer were found in plain view.
Patino - Estacio later admitted he did no
