A British boy who tragically died as a teenager has been given the coveted title of the first millennial saint in a ceremony performed by Pope Leo . London-born Carlo Acutis was canonised this morning (Sunday, September 7), nearly 20 years after he passed away from leukaemia at the age of 15. ‌

During his short life, however, Acutis made websites where be documented 'miracles' to spread the teachings of the Catholic church. He was nicknamed 'God's influencer' as a result. ‌
