Every year, Michigan’s Legislature negotiates a budget that eventually lands on the governor’s desk. .With less than a month before the fiscal year ends and this year’s budget runs out, that hasn't happened yet. This year, one of the biggest sticking points in the budget is road funding.

Everyone wants a good road funding plan. There is no real debate in Lansing about the value of infrastructure or investments in our roads. Small businesses, big businesses, unions, Republicans, Democrats ― everyone likes the idea of funding our roads and bridges. In fact, thousands of people from all walks of life gathered at the state Capitol this week to tell legislators to do their job and fund our roads.
