The spring and summer of Shedeur Sanders will give way to the fall and winter of Cam Ward . At least that’s my hope and prediction for this NFL season, which gets into full swing Sunday.

Ward’s name may only sound vaguely familiar because, well, he’s not the son of former NFL star defensive back/wide receiver/kick returner and Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders also known as “Prime Time” or now “Coach Prime.”

Ward? He was just the best quarterback in college football last season, turned in a record-setting collegiate career and comes into the NFL with the blessing and backing of a Hall of Fame quarterback, who literally showed up on Ward’s first day at the Tennessee Titans facility to hand him his new jersey.
