BROWNSVILLE, Brooklyn (WABC) -- The NYPD is investigating a deadly police-involved shooting that injured an officer who tried to stop a man from entering a Brooklyn precinct on Sunday morning.
The shooting happened around 5:30 a.m. near East New York Avenue and Amboy Street in Brownsville.
There was a big police presence on scene following the incident as officers began their investigation. Video shows a large knife in the middle of the road and shell casings.
Police sources tell Eyewitness News a 35-year-old man attempted to enter a nearby police precinct through a back entrance when a female NYPD officer tried to stop him. The suspect then pulled out a knife and slashed the officer in the face.
