An Emmerdale legend has an exciting new role.

Reece Dinsdale , who played Paul Ashdale in Emmerdale and Joe McIntyre in Coronation Street, will be taking to the stage at Leeds Playhouse . Alongside his acting performance in Emmerdale , Reece, 66, has also directed episodes of the soap - and its fellow ITV show Corrie.

Fresh from his heartfelt performance as Howard in Through It All Together , a moving tribute to football, family, and resilience, Reece will now step into the iconic role of Ebenezer Scrooge in Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol.

Fans will be able to see Reece in the festive adaptation, being showcased at Leeds Playhouse, which will open on Thursday, November 20. It will run into 2026 and conclude on Saturday, January 17.
