OLD LYME, Conn. — A woman was arrested in Old Lyme early Sunday morning after crashing a pickup truck into a utility pole and injuring a passenger, according to Connecticut State Police.
The crash happened around 2:08 a.m. in the area of 156 Four Mile River Road.
State police said the vehicle, a black truck, had been traveling southbound when it veered off the road while negotiating a curve. It then hit a utility pole and stopped in an embankment.
State police said the passenger suffered serious injuries and was first taken to Middlesex Health Shoreline Medical Center before being transferred to Yale New Haven Hospital.
Troopers found the driver, identified as Kelsey Velez, 30, of Old Lyme, nearby at 168 Four Mile River Road, state police said.
