SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- The streets of downtown Sioux Falls are closed to traffic, and open to the arts. Vendors from near and far are set up and ready to sell their best work.

"I carve wood. I'm a retired dentist so I use dental drills to carve into the wood," said Tom Montoya of TMontoyArt.

Tom Montoya has been making art like this for decades, but he only started selling his pieces last year. He also works with silverware.

"I bend them and stuff and get ideas. And those are, the forks that are bent are easels. They'll hold a cell phone or recipe card or picture frame," said Montoya.

Montoya sold his work at last year's Sidewalk Arts Festival. This year, he's selling charcuterie boards.

"That takes five or six, seven, eight hours," said Montoya.
