Amy Dowden has taken to social media to share an emotional and heartbreaking message, revealing a fellow patient she had befriended during her cancer treatment had died.

The BBC star, 35, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023, forcing her to pull out of Strictly Come Dancing at the time.

While she is making her triumphant return to the ballroom this year, the news of her friend's passing led her to state: "I truly hate cancer."

"A beautiful soul, Hannah, I met during treatment. Our appointments always aligned and we'd have a good natter and put the world to rights.
