BROOKLYN — Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani shared the stage at Brooklyn College on Saturday night with one of his political heroes: Vermont U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders.
With less than two months until election day, the pair urged attendees to keep up the energy and canvass for the Mamdani campaign across the five boroughs.
Explaining how he attended Sanders rally in Queens before his 2020 state Assembly win, Mamdani explained that he was inspired.
“As I ran for state Assembly for the many months beyond that, we continued to look to him and his campaign and his vision and as the compass for the work that we wanted to do,” he said speaking to packed house, kicking off the roughly two hour event.
