Mike Macdonald will open his second season as the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday at home against the NFC West rival San Francisco 49ers. Seattle won 10 games in Macdonald’s first year but missed the playoffs. The postseason seemed to be a near-given during the Pete Carroll era.

Seattle is being led on offense by a new coordinator and a new quarterback. Klint Kubiak is expected to install a run-first attack in his debut season running the Seahawks’ offense. And after reviving his career in Minnesota in 2024, Sam Darnold takes over as the new Seahawks QB.
