WAUPACA COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) - Around 5:20 p.m. Saturday, the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office received a call for a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle on County Highway Q near Mary Street.

Law enforcement and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and initiated life-saving measures. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Waupaca County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Reports show that a sport utility vehicle was traveling westbound on County Highway Q. As it passed Mary Street, the vehicle struck a pedestrian in the roadway, came to a stop, and remained at the scene.

The driver was uninjured and is cooperating with law enforcement.
