GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - An important message from child safety experts: Prioritize medication safety at home. Doing this can save your family from a trip to the emergency room.

The Center for Childhood Safety in Green Bay partnered with HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital and Prevea Health to spread this life-saving message.

They say every 10 minutes a child goes to the emergency room for medication poisoning.

In 86% of ER visits from medicine poisoning, kids got into medication that belonged to a parent or grandparent.
