A group of High Park-area residents accused the city of failing to do enough to slow traffic in their neighbourhood after a notorious Parkside Dr. speed camera was vandalized for the seventh time in less than a year.

A statement from the group Safe Parkside said residents woke Sunday to find the speed camera vandalized once again, leaving their “dangerous street” with little in the way of safety measures.

“The lack of any meaningful safety measures remains a big concern on Parkside Dr., a street that borders the city’s busiest park, High Park, on the west side and residential homes in the east side,” said the statement. “Despite Parkside Drive’s long and deadly history of speeding, the City of Toronto continues to overlook safety on the city-designed community safety zone.”
