HENDERSON, Ky. (WFIE) - A group of 4th graders in Henderson is making their community proud by the way they reacted to a funeral service at the cemetery behind their school.
Leaders at Jefferson Elementary School say during recess Thursday, there was a funeral procession.
They say without being asked, the children lined up and stood still, some with bowed heads, some with hands on their hearts, and some saluting.
School leaders say the family in mourning even reached out to them say how touched they were by the gesture.
They say it brought them comfort on such a difficult day.
