CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Two Southeast Missouri State University football players received Ohio Valley Conference-Big South honors.

According to SEMO Athletics, quarterback Jax Leatherwood was named Offensive Player of the Week and Justin Keller was chosen for Co-Specialist of the Week.

They say Leatherwood, a native of San Diego, California, had a hand in all three of SEMO’s touchdowns vs. North Alabama on September 6.

He completed 21-of-33 passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns and ran for one score.

Leatherwood’s first career rushing touchdown, a 3-yard run in the second quarter, gave the Redhawks their first lead of the contest. He threw a 55-yard pass to Cam Pedro and an 8-yard pass to Andrew Civey for his other TDs.
