Emergency crews are responding to a fire burning near Route 233 by Sexton Lumber in Lethbridge.

Residents in the Bayview area have been ordered to evacuate immediately. Police and Ground Search and Rescue are on the ground assisting with the evacuation.

Route 233 is closed to all traffic in both directions.

The local fire department and officials with the Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture are also on scene.

Residents are urged to follow all instructions from first responders. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
