LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville union members took action Friday, Sept. 5, calling for a change in the federal government. This after President Trump’s Executive Order this spring that removed collective bargaining rights for workers at more than 30 federal agencies, including the Department of Veterans Affairs.
More than a dozen people joined the rally calling for support for House Bill 2550. It’s a bipartisan bill called the Protect America’s Workforce Act.
The bill follows President Donald Trump's executive order in March that stripped many federal unions of bargaining power, including the VA, affecting over a million union workers.
Last week, just days before Labor Day, the president extended that order, now including all federal agencies with “national security missions.”
