Neighbors say a mother and three of her children — ranging in age from school-aged to young adulthood — lived in a modest, 1,000-square-foot home in the Brentwood-Darlington neighborhood of Southeast Portland, where police say three people were fatally shot Saturday afternoon.
Police have said one male and two females died , but have not made public their identities or said anything more about the victims — including whether any were children.
Police said they responded at 5:05 p.m. to reports of a suicide in the 7300 block of Southeast 64th Avenue and found three people dead. Homicide detectives began investigating and neighbors said police left the neighborhood about nine hours later.
