FOXBOROUGH — A quiet first half gave way to a turbulent final two quarters for Patriots rookie tackle Will Campbell.
After flying under the radar early — often a good sign for an offensive lineman — Campbell was whistled for a pair of false starts and the defender he was blocking took down Drake Maye for two sacks after halftime.
Maye bore a bit of responsibility on the first sack. On a third-and-5 with a 5:12 remaining in the third quarter, the quarterback attempted to flee up through the pocket and scampered right into Raiders defensive end Tyree Wilson, who was engaged with Campbell.
The second sack came as the Patriots desperately needed a positive drive, trailing by two scores in the fourth quarter.
