DENVER (KDVR) — Thousands of Denver Broncos fans started off the season with a massive tailgating party at Empower Field at Mile High. Many set up tents and recreational vehicles where they grilled their pre-game favorites, including burgers, hot dogs and chili.

“We were just anxious for the season to start,” said one fan playing a round of cornhole.

A super Broncos bus welcomed those wanting to view team memorabilia.

“We have autographs, Phillip Lindsay, Randy Gradishar,” said one visitor.

Vendors selling team shirts and hats can earn as much as 80% of their yearly income during football season. They were happy to receive support from fans who waited until game day to buy chain necklaces, sunglasses and other Broncos collectibles.
