DENVER (KDVR) — A driver crashed into a building in Douglas County on Sunday, according to a post on X from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies and the traffic unit responded to a report of a car crashed into a building on Sunday morning.

When they arrived, they discovered that a woman realized a driver's worst fear when she accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of her brakes and accelerated into the building in front of her.

The crash occurred at a building near County Line Road and South University Boulevard.

A portion of the building was left unusable, but fortunately, the business was able to remain open and function as it typically would.

The woman and the people near the crash were uninjured.
