PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A 12-year-old girl is recovering after a portion of a tree fell on her at a festival in Paulding County Saturday, according to the sheriff’s office.
The incident happened at the Paulding Meadows Arts and Crafts Festival, when the tree, along with limbs from another tree, fell on the girl. The sheriff’s office said she was “critically” injured.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies and county firefighters started to help treating her.
“We know there is a lot of information swirling around on social media, and we want to make sure that everyone knows the most accurate information,” the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post.
The sheriff’s office is asking the community to be in prayer for the young girl and her family.
