LANDOVER, Md. — When it’s game day, no one tailgates quite like Commanders fans. And with this being the first tailgate of the season, they wasted no time filling the Redzone Lot.

By 8 a.m., coolers were cracked open, the fryer was sizzling, and the music was blasting as groups of fans set up for the day.

“I feel great, I’m excited. I got my family here,” Aaron Cooley shared.

For many, it’s not just about the food and drinks, but also the momentum from last year’s playoff run.

“Last year was incredible. It still hasn’t all sunk in, but we’re so excited for this year,” Ashiq Mannan said.

Fans are also already looking ahead to November, when Washington faces the Miami Dolphins in Madrid, Spain — the first time the franchise will play a regular-season game overseas.
