SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) -- The Suffolk Police Department is asking for the public's help in solving a 1999 homicide.

On Sept. 7, 1999, Erizik Davis was reported missing along with his vehicle by family members. They searched around his neighborhood and found his vehicle parked behind a vacant residence on Sept. 12.

Officers were immediately notified and responded to the scene. They found Davis deceased in the trunk of his vehicle.

A medical examiner found injuries on Davis and determined him to be the victim of homicide.

Police said a person of interest and multiple people were interviewed but a suspect was not identified.

Police also said all leads and tips were investigated and exhausted, so the investigation went cold.
