BOARDMAN - A two-car crash temporarily backed up traffic on a highway in Boardman Sunday afternoon.

Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSP) responded to a two-car crash at 4:47 p.m. on the southbound lane of I-680, just south of U.S. Route 224.

According to OSP, a Honda Civic traveling northbound lost control of the vehicle. The car drove left-of-center, over the median, across the southbound lane and into a guardrail. After striking the guardrail, the car moved back into the road and hit a Ford Escape.

The southbound lanes were backed up with traffic as crews cleared the scene. The lanes have since reopened.

OSP Sergeant Adam Shonk tells 21 News they believe the driver of the Honda Civic was under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
