ALBEMARLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Police have arrested a man accused of a shooting that occurred during a physical altercation in Albemarle.

On Sept. 7, around 11 a.m., Albermarle police officers responded to reports of a disturbance in the parking lot of a retail store in the 2400 block of W. Main Street.

When officers arrived, they found a man with a single gunshot wound. The victim was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. They also found Martin Jarmis Hambrick, 50, at the scene.

Following the initial investigation, police learned the two men knew each other, and this was not a random act.
