GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Detroit Lions’ season opener may not have ended the way fans hoped, but that didn’t stop supporters from showing up in full force to cheer on their team.
O’Toole’s, a Grand Rapids bar that usually stays closed on Sundays, opened its doors for the season opener — and the turnout didn’t disappoint. The place was packed wall-to-wall with fans dressed in Honolulu blue, ready to celebrate the start of a new NFL season.
“Lions football runs deep in this area,” lifelong fan Domenic Parker said. “Even though we're West Michigan, even though we're an entirely opposite side of the state, doesn't mean you can't connect with the biggest NFL team in our area."
